As a further update, I have been mooching about without the aid of my crutch for a week now. I have taken to leaving one in the back of my car, and the other is near the front door at my parent’s.
I am still limping a fair bit as my knee is not quite right. Last Friday, I walked to the pub in record time (10 minutes), and when I got there, a friend of Danny’s who I have met before asked about my leg. I told him about my knee, and before I could say anything, he was feeling my thigh and knee. He proclaimed that it was some ligament / tendon type thing. It turns out he is a chiropractor, and he was used to feeling up people, although, I doubt I looked like the happiest of customers. I needed a couple of half shandies to take away the mental anguish. On a less homoerotic note, I am now walking around like John Wayne. Well, it’s either that or I am walking around like a serial self defecator. I prefer the former.
2 1/2 days of work before a well earned break (forgive the pun).
I have not posted for a few days due to my impending visit to the Fracture Clinic. I arrived there at 2:30pm (thanks Dad), and was told to go and wait outside X-Ray. Read more…
When I got back tonight, I took off my rucksack, and then went for the 300m walk again. I did it in 6 minutes the same as yesterday. When I got back again, I read a letter that was addressed to me from the NHS. It was my new appointment for the fracture clinic. It is on Monday 24th August at 2:55pm. So now, it is only 5 weeks to go!!
I did not go to work today, as I was going to the hospital. My check in time was 1:55pm, but Mum and Dad were busy this morning at the field, so I did not want them to come and fetch me from work.

It is one week until my return to Warwick Hospital for the fracture clinic. I am hoping that all is going well, and that I will be given the all clear to start putting weight on my leg. Read more…
I got a call last night from Tracey saying that there were wasps going into the wall at the house. So, Dad and I went to Homebase this morning to get supplies. We just got some expandable foam. Dad said he needs some for the Tractor shed, so it was not an extra. Whilst I was waiting for Dad to pay, I noticed something that made me feel as if I was back in China.

Nothing much happened today. I was tired after all my sticking yesterday, especially my right shoulder. I must favour that arm more when I stick, or something like that. I breakfasted, sudokued, exercised and interneted.

Got up early this morning to get to the hospital on time. We left home at 8:45am, and Dad dropped Mum and I off at 8:55am. My appointment was for 9:05am, so no problems. Went to the Fracture Clinic Reception desk, and my name was ticked off a list. Good stuff. We went through into the waiting room, and I was surprised to see quite a few people already there.

Up and showered this morning, and then sticked it downstairs for 8:15am.
I am preparing for tomorrows jaunt to the hospital. Yesterday afternoon, I was called with an appointment to be at the “Fracture Clinic” at 9:05am on Wednesday. I am not 100% sure what they are going to do, but, they might give me an indication as to how long I will need for recovery.

I woke up at 4:40am. Got ready, and was waiting for the flight nurse (Nurse Jane) at 5:30am. Ma Yan went onto the balcony, and looked for the car. It was in front of building B. The Diamond Court security turned up, and a few seconds later Nurse Jane called to confirm the room number. She was at A1307, so I told her to come to A1105. She arrived, and then gave me a quick check over of blood pressure, O2 saturation, heart rate. All were normal. She then gave me an injection to help prevent DVT whilst on the plane. I asked her to tell me when she was going to do it, but she had already jabbed me and finished!
