I got a call last night from Tracey saying that there were wasps going into the wall at the house. So, Dad and I went to Homebase this morning to get supplies. We just got some expandable foam. Dad said he needs some for the Tractor shed, so it was not an extra. Whilst I was waiting for Dad to pay, I noticed something that made me feel as if I was back in China.

Today I am just going to reflect on my recovery. I am getting bored of the whole “Got up, had breakfast”. I am sure anyone else who reads this feels the same. It was when I was lying in bed about to write this that I decided to change the style of this post.

I woke up late this morning, and got up late as well. I thought Mum and Dad hadn’t got up, so I was buggered if I was going to get up. Turns out, they were already up…
I went for a shower this morning. First one in 3 weeks! The last one I had was just before the fall, so I was probably overdue one. Took a bit of messing about with the zimmer to get it into the right place to get in the shower, but I managed it. Mum and Dad have a seperate shower, so that makes it a million times easier than trying to get in a bath. There is only a small step to get into it, and the floor is not slippy at all.

I woke up at 4:40am. Got ready, and was waiting for the flight nurse (Nurse Jane) at 5:30am. Ma Yan went onto the balcony, and looked for the car. It was in front of building B. The Diamond Court security turned up, and a few seconds later Nurse Jane called to confirm the room number. She was at A1307, so I told her to come to A1105. She arrived, and then gave me a quick check over of blood pressure, O2 saturation, heart rate. All were normal. She then gave me an injection to help prevent DVT whilst on the plane. I asked her to tell me when she was going to do it, but she had already jabbed me and finished!

Ma Yan arrived back with my Jeans and walking boots just after 8am. I had to sign some documents for my discharge, and got my X-Rays and all the blood test results. I waited for a while, and then put on my clothes. It felt very strange to be wearing proper clothing, but in a good way. I then sat on the sofa with my rucksack ready to go. I had to sign some more papers detailing the cost of the stay in hospital. Total cost is 188,534.67 RMB, so around £18000!

Woke up early this morning.
Ma Yan went to Diamond Court to pick up some clothes for me at 6:30am. They called me to confirm that I agreed to her being allowed in the room. They then sent an escort with her, so I had to make a call to say that I would be responsible, and to leave her alone. That did not work, so Ma Yan spoke to the front desk and it was sorted.
I took the opportunity to zimmer to the bathroom, I then opened the curtains, and got back into bed. I feel I will be doing alot of moving around today, so I will take my rest when I can. Breakfast in bed for the last time.
The plan is for discharge at 10am. We shall see how that goes.
At 5pm, Dr. Lee’s young assistant arrived, and whipped out the stitches. I thought he was just cutting them, and was going to go back and drag them out. But he said “All done”, and the stitches were there in a pile. No pain at all! I did not count them, I shall wait until later for that.
He said that I will need to keep the dressing on them for 3 days, and if the drain hole dressing gets too wet, then that should be changed. I am not sure if it has made any difference to my movement, but I zimmered to the toilet in celebration anyway.
Well, after a fairly good nights sleep, I was awake at 6:30am. After doing some exercises, I got up at 7 and zimmered to the bathroom. Still nice to not p**s in a bottle. I had a shave, (last one here), and then went to the chair. I caught them out today, as they brought breakfast at 7:40am, so I managed to have breakfast out of bed. After eating my toast and jam, I read some more of “Sigh for a Merlin”. Dad will like some of the chapter names. One of which is – “A Tomtit in the garden”.

I did a few more trips to the chair for a read, and a bit of computer time. I zimmered about a bit as well, and on one of my zimms I spoke to the mother of the lad in the next bed. It turns out that she knows Renney! It is a small expat world out here. (That is for you Mum)

Not a good sleep again. Hopefully, I will find a better position tonight.
Breakfast was at 7:30am this morning, and it caught me out! I was going to have breakfast in my chair, but I had not even started to get up. I had breakfast, and then zimmered to the loo. I then opened the curtains, put the fan on and sat in the chair for a while and read some more. After about 30 minutes, I got back into bed and read my emails. Jamo is back on form, as I had 7 funny emails from him.
