Fantastic Friday (possibly).

Up this morning for the usual Weetabix and milk. My plan was to sort all the papers that were at the apartment and also some that Tracey had brought over. I actually managed to get it all sorted whilst skyping as well!

Gina brought up some gloves of Danny’s late last night (well, after I had gone upstairs, and I was buggered if I was going back downstairs again). So I gave them a whirl on the sticks. Very good. Nice grip from the little rubbery bits on them, so no danger of my hands slipping off the grips.

Lunch was a calcium rich affair, with sardines in tomato sauce on ciabatta with cheese on top. Plus a glass of milk. With my new found grip, I mooched about in the kitchen and opened the cans of sardine for Mum, and then got in the way. We were going to eat outside, but the weather suddenly turned and so ate inside. After lunch, I had a look at Dad’s rain gauge. It has not been working for a while. I could not see anything mechanically wrong with it. It has a see-saw like bucket in it, and when the centre part with a steel bar in, moves past a coil inside it should send a message to increase the count by 1mm. However after much changing of batteries and shaking, and the patented “adjustment” technique (hitting it), it still would not work. Dad is going to email the company to complain about how it has only lasted over a year.

After that (as it was around 3pm), I called Ma Yan using the cheap number. Not bad for 1p per minute to any phone in the world. Here is the number for anyone interested – 08448618585.

Gina and Hugh arrived at 5:30pm, and we shall be having a take-away tonight. Hopefully, Danny will not be as battered as he was last week… I am going to attempt to have a pint of Guiness. It will be my first drink in 4 weeks. I hope to be able to get back upstairs later on, otherwise I might be spending the night on the sofa.
