I planned to get up at 7:30am this morning. However, I got a phone call at 7:20am, and was on the phone for 20 minutes. That then put me back a bit. I checked my emails, so that put me back more, and then I missed my chance in the bathroom. I got downstairs for 9:00am.

Again, as the title says, it is 5 weeks today since the surgery. More exercises done, and hopefully closer to a full recovery. It is 3 weeks tomorrow that I go to the hospital for further X-rays to see how the bone is healing. My scar has been a bit sore today, but massaging it seems to have helped it.
I was home alone today, and so breakfast took a bit of time to take through into the dining room. I had the usual Weetabix, and drank the milk from the bottle, (no one will ever know…). I did my post breakfast exercises, and relaxed in the chair for a while. Before I knew it, it was lunch time, so I made my way to the kitchen.

Up late today. I was going to get up earlier this week, but I missed my chance in the bathroom, and so did not get up until 9:45am. I had my breakfast, did the easy sudoku, and then started on my new regime. I am doing my exercises after each meal, as I have to use my sticks to go from the table to sit down in the chair anyway, so I might as well do my exercises on the way.

I woke up late this morning, and got up late as well. I thought Mum and Dad hadn’t got up, so I was buggered if I was going to get up. Turns out, they were already up…
I went for a shower this morning. First one in 3 weeks! The last one I had was just before the fall, so I was probably overdue one. Took a bit of messing about with the zimmer to get it into the right place to get in the shower, but I managed it. Mum and Dad have a seperate shower, so that makes it a million times easier than trying to get in a bath. There is only a small step to get into it, and the floor is not slippy at all.

Woke up early this morning. I still haven’t found the most comfortable sleeping position yet. However, I did roll onto my left side, and it was not too painful. Not real pain, but just pulling and stretching at the muscles. If I continue to do that, it should ease off more and more. I read for a while, and have nearly finished “Sigh for a Merlin”, and then I wrote a word document with yesterdays blog, while it was still fairly fresh in my mind. I managed to nip into the bathroom when Mum got a phone call, and get myself washed up for the day.

Well, after a fairly good nights sleep, I was awake at 6:30am. After doing some exercises, I got up at 7 and zimmered to the bathroom. Still nice to not p**s in a bottle. I had a shave, (last one here), and then went to the chair. I caught them out today, as they brought breakfast at 7:40am, so I managed to have breakfast out of bed. After eating my toast and jam, I read some more of “Sigh for a Merlin”. Dad will like some of the chapter names. One of which is – “A Tomtit in the garden”.

I did a few more trips to the chair for a read, and a bit of computer time. I zimmered about a bit as well, and on one of my zimms I spoke to the mother of the lad in the next bed. It turns out that she knows Renney! It is a small expat world out here. (That is for you Mum)

Not a good sleep again. Hopefully, I will find a better position tonight.
Breakfast was at 7:30am this morning, and it caught me out! I was going to have breakfast in my chair, but I had not even started to get up. I had breakfast, and then zimmered to the loo. I then opened the curtains, put the fan on and sat in the chair for a while and read some more. After about 30 minutes, I got back into bed and read my emails. Jamo is back on form, as I had 7 funny emails from him.

Bob arrived at 10am for a visit. Whilst he was here, the surgeon assistant arrived to change my dressings. Bob and I chatted with him, and he said that I need to come back here 4 weeks after the surgery for an X-Ray. This is to see how the bone is healing.
I told him that I was going to be in England when then was, and he looked thoughtfully at me and said, “I think they can take X-Rays in England.” I was very relieved to hear that! He also confirmed about taking the stitches out on Wednesay.
Bob was saying that he was going to the Shangri La hotel for Sunday brunch this coming weekend, as it had been so good on a previous occasion. Prawns as big as your hand, was one of the comments he made.
I zimmered about after lunch, and sat in the chair reading “Sigh for a Merlin” by Alex Henshaw, about his role during the war of being a Spitfire test pilot. I have only just started it, but so far, so good.
I have skyped Hugh, Gina, Mum and Dad today, so everyone is fully up to date with all that is happening. Tonight, I shall just relax and read some more, and maybe watch some tv online.
Was woken early this morning by my leg being a bit sore. I cannot seem to find a position that is comfortable for the whole night.
Ma Yan left for work at 6:45, she has stayed here over the weekend. Making sure I do my exercises, and generally helping me out.
